Good Morning! It’s off to work as normal here, but that’s the routine. Routine – It’s a word that sounds great to some people, some hate it, and others could care less. Personally I like routine as I know what to expect, but from my reading today, I wanted to share with you the dangers of routine, but also the positives of having and keeping a routine.
a sequence of actions regularly followed; a fixed program.“I settled down into a routine of work and sleep”
Think about your own routine. What does it look like? The reason I find a routine to be so important is that it is what makes up our lives. What we do routinely defines what happens throughout our day and essentially our lives. A routine without time with God does not continually develop and strengthen a relationship with Him. Without that daily time with God, we begin to allow other things to take precedence, whether work or play. We begin to routinely participate in things that may or may not be beneficial to our relationship with God. I guess you could call it “Sin Creep”. Little things that begin to pull us away from God, but are not as noticed during our day to day activities that they themselves begin to become routine. Take today to begin a routine that is not only honoring to God, but also developing with God.
“So then, dear brothers and sisters, be firm. Do not be moved! Always be outstanding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” Corinthians 15:58
Be firm. Do not be moved! Be aware of what you’re letting into your life and mind. Be aware of what your family is letting to enter the home. Be aware of the “Sin Creep” in your lives. satan is tricky. he is devious and he is often slow. Stay in check and be on guard.
