25Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, 26that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, 27so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. 28In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. -Ephesians 5:25-28
Today marks my Wife and I’s 4th Anniversary! Words cannot express how blessed I am to have her. She has a hearth of gold with boundless compassion for others. She unknowingly sacrifices so much of her wants and quite often needs to ensure others get theirs. She’s as beautiful as any could imagine, and I get to call her mine.
One of the greatest callings to men is to love our wives, as Christ loved the church. To put this in perspective, where it states that He “gave himself up for her”, it means life. That’s giving up life for another. God calls us to love our wives to the extremity of dying for them. Are you willing to do that? Are you pouring your love and effort into making your marriage and love for your life one that exemplifies Christ’s love?
Take today to love your wife more. Take action to show her your love and work to develop a stronger relationship with here and God.
