Today’s devotion is simple. It’s about Priorities.
a thing that is regarded as more important than another.“housework didn’t figure high on her list of priorities”
the fact or condition of being regarded or treated as more important.“the safety of the country takes priority over any other matter”
What are your priorities? Take a second to number a list 1-5. Write down what you find to be a priority with 1 being the most important. Be honest with yourself.
Take a look a the list and assess it. Does it line up with your family’s needs, or wants. Does it line up with what God wants in your life?
- Make yourself happy.
- Make your family happy.
- Impress others.
- Make more money.
- Oh yeah, God.
I’ll admit, it’s easy and way too often God ends up number 5. Or worse.
It’s important to be honest with yourself. God blesses those who put him first. That doesn’t mean life will be without issues and road bumps, but God will provide for you, when you put Him first.
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. – Matthew 6:33
Try to put God first this week. Start your day with a conversation with Him. Ask God to keep you in check and to put Him first.
